Preliminary information released by Phoenix police says the mother was to drop the child off at child care on her way to work Tuesday morning, but for unknown reasons failed to do so.
This needs further investigation....

That is so sad! Did you read the linked stories about the 2 other babies that were killed in that same manner? Unbeleivable! One whose parent is a pediatrician, and anothers' is an assistant school principal!!!

She did not know. Can you idiots have a little humanity? This is a tragedy and this happens quite a lot.. I think it takes someone capable of devious acts, or at least no sense of compassion, to assume so quickly that it was intentional.

wilhelm, calling everyone idiot because of one person's perception on this story. What an idiot.

I would have just stayed silent.

It is at least criminally negligent. I mean, I can see someone running into a store to get something and leaving the kid behind. But going to work, leaving the kid in for 8 hours, forget the heat, dehydration and hunger would have been hard enough on the poor kid. If this is not an incentive to get employers to invest in good health care, I don't know what is.

Wilhelm, while I'm not surprised by your remarks, because I know you just like playing devils advocate, if you really believe a woman just 'forgets' about her child for seven or eight hours, you're a nutcase. But I don't think you actually believe that. Just trying to get everyone's dander up again.

Did the Willhelm spake? Sorry I didn't catch that. I guess that microwaving your baby is a fine way to dry him after his bath.

Yes hudgal. It does happen by accident. It has happened dozens of times this year alone by mothers and fathers. I guess I am just more aware of this issue because I have a 2 year old. I have heard the details and conditions of instances where this has occurred and none of the mothers or fathers in any of the cases I am aware were guilty of intentionally killing their children.

By the way, I also know of cases where mothers and fathers have become aware of their mistake and rescued the child before it was too late.
There is the tragic case of a father that forgot to take his infant daughter to daycare because it was not part of his morning routine. The mother usually took the daughter to d...

You are a pitiful, sick individual to display such hatred about this. You are are more disgusting than you are ignorant.
I see a trend occurring. It's hapening more a more. The Left calling those on the Right nutcases, insane, having alzheimenrs, etc. In fact, Hudgal, I think you are starting to make a habit of this. You and Arif like this tactic. Perhaps you should seek help. It is sure sign of problems!

I will side with wilhelm on this. People are not that cruel, yet.
Life is that stressful, already

Routines are so burnt into our daily lives that sometimes we omit parts and don't even realize it.

Empathy for the mothers and fathers of these occurrences makes me want to cry for their pain.

Let us not forget there are parents that purposely kill their children and I have yet to see any of them doing it in this manner. Mostly it is by drowning them.
These are most likely the result of a tragic mistake.

Yep, it happens too frequently in the Texas heat here also. Just as common, pets are victims as well.

Now, what was your original message about judgment?

Even if you were right, if you actually practiced what you preached you might be vaguely credible.

Intentional? Maybe.

Coming from you? Moot!

I know about living in a hot place, its hot here year round. You simply do not leave your kids more than a few minutes (or pets for that matter) alone inside a car. Period. Inside a vehicle, due to the fact that car window glass traps infrared radiation, temperatures can soar to over 20+ degrees from ambient temperatures. That means that if its 105F outside, inside it could be as much as 125F-130F. And to put it into perspective, anything above 70F can seriously affect a child health in a matter of minutes.

People close to Duchene told investigators that she made statements over the past few weeks that she thought parental responsibilities encroached on her freedom.

The very reason i chose to set this in in the first place was because it was not included in the clip above, and it seems to me that there was a neend to investigate further as to why she did not drop her child off. There is a "possibility" that there may have been a legitimate explanation as to why, i don't think so personally, but i could be wrong. Next time you wish to use my clip in a critical manner at least look and understand what the clip says.

Really, Wilhelm, your habit of personal attacks are getting very old. The name-calling, insults, and flat-our rudeness are not what most people would deem as rational behavior. Something needs to be done, whether it's by you, the board moderators, or someone else. People come here to share ideas and opinions, not to be called names and be insulted continuously. You ruin that whole philosophy of sharing. Many have quit coming here due to your incomprehension of acceptable behavior. Frankly, many of us are sick of it. There's a difference between being frank and just being a jerk. Try and keep that in mind. Try not insulting everyone who disagrees with your opinion.

This is just totally unbelievable CrazyRedHead, never in my wildest imagination I thought parents would forget their babies in their own cars. It is a mind blowing thought. I have to confess that I was not aware of these incidents at all. One certain aspect of it, I can possibly understand if the parent is suffering from dementia, but then those parents must come equip with their own safeguards. It is hard to imagine a normal human being would forget a baby in the car. It is not like you're driving a big truck that you forgot something so tiny somewhere, the car is not a big thing.

I clipped the URL in my last post.

I remember a case not too long ago in Texas - the dad was well-educated person with a good job who was supposed to drop the baby off (not usually his job) - and simply forgot his baby was in the car. Very sad.

I think some of you people must miss the news stories about people beating their two year olds to death because they won't stop crying, about the little four year old that had been taken away from her parents by CPS because she had bruises all over her body and two broken legs from abuse. The parents got her back and they beat her to death. I know this kind of stuff is not limited to San Antonio.

Most parents are good, yes. But when something like this happens, and you don't think it merits looking into, it just may cost a sister or brother his/her life too. Every 'mysterious' accident needs to be looked into, for the sake of the child and others like her. Sorry, Not all parents are wonde...
