dakotayii says: Very touching Awww, this story brought tears to my eyes. Animals do indeed feel grief and some very much so. I had two cats that were this close and when one died, (The other saw I carried his buddy out the door to the vet's) he sat by the door for days and days just miawing. Long, calling miaws. I had other cats, but he was inconsolable too. I went out and got another kitten too, to try and distract him and he so loved her. It helped. Two other cats I had, grew up together and were close as two peas in a pod. They both lived to be 14 and they died within just six weeks of each other. I think the one, chose to follow the other in death. They are still together too. They are buried next to each other. I love all animals. I have 2 dogs and 7 Japanese KOI. I know they have feelings. They are wonderful creatures. Thank you thisname........ No, thank YOU, for posting such a sweet story. A LOT of people still see animals as "things", so it is very important to get out, that they are indeed sentient beings with emotions, just like us, who deserve to be treated humanely and with respect. Thanks again. I just LOVE the smile on that cat's face, btw. We humans should retain this kind of compassion. |
