balthazarus says: i was sent by a friend this video, which i find fascinating. You could also tell it was summer time in the north by the suns foot print over the planet. You could see that it didn't quite set in the extreme north and it didn't quite rise in the extreme south. With this 24 hour observation of aircraft travel on the earth's surface we get to see the daylight pattern move as well. It's rare and nearly impossible for commercial flights to get so close as to "wave at each other". An exception is parallel landings at some major airports. Each flight is assigned a position in airspace in order to be separated from other flights. This makes the shown graphic images which are not to scale, meld into others thus making them look scarier than they really are. Tell the public that they should be scared about flying without leveling with them about what balances things out and they'll too often opt for fear. The movie is an excellent trend show however. |
