Interesting to note the dates. The surveillance occurred under Democratic and Republican administrations. Once the goverment has the power it will always abuse it, regardless of who is in power, a lesson lost on some our our Republican clippers.

I doubt it's his privacy they are interested in protecting in any case. More likely, the interest is in protecting the breadth of their skills at invading privacy.
