You got proof of that beyond the "tri-border" area nonsense. Next thing you know "they" will be Russian paratroopers landing on the backyard of your local high school.

Explain the threat please, what military capabilities do they have that would in fact threaten the United States, like oh I don't know a few dozen aircraft carriers or several hundred long range bombers not to mention millions of recruits. Considering that most of the Americas are Roman Catholic (or other assorted Christian denominations) I think the recruiting pool is pretty shallow.

As for ties with countries like Venezuela, think OPEC and a few Russian fighter planes, again nothing that would threaten the U.S. unless by threatening you mean that they might enough hardware together to actually deter an American "intervention" or at least shoot down a few F-16s that tried to bomb the local Presidential Palace.
