bferman says: Let the wagon circling begin! it is sick and condescending to assume that the poor and disenfranchised lack any moral compass. The implicit suggestion that theseI wholeheartedly agree. If they really believe this, what will be the state of things when everyone in America is poor and disenfranchised?! Anything goes because we just "don't know better?" I had no idea that money made you smarter. I had no idea that money made you smarter. It doesn't, but the more money you have in your pocket, the better looking you'll feel. Man, why are we paying for this again? NPR - National Petroleum Radio Wait a minute... You guys are WAY off base here. It's obviously not possible for a liberal to be racist. That's why they always get a pass from the media for comments that may SOUND racist to the layperson. If Frank James were really spouting racist comments, NPR would of course be the first ones to call him out for being a racist conservative. If you hear a liberal saying something that sounds racist, you should just assume that you've simply misunderstood them, or perhaps you've taken their remarks out of context, or maybe you're a racist yourself! Thanks for the clarification bferman. I listen to NPR sometimes on Sun a.m. in the car while other stations are on infomercials, and the bias at times is absolutely astounding. The aloof eliteness, the arrogant implied superiority that says "if you were as intelligent as we are you'd surely arise to our evolved view of the world". They use a semi-subliminal emotional influence upon you to draw the listener into the "progressive" view. Ending a story with the emotional "money" line, a few introspective notes of acoustic guitar or piano, all leaving you with a general mental picture that places the emotional over the factual. The emotion of a questionable "victim". The "meanness" effect of politics that they don't agree with. Ever... Pop that comment DavBoz!! |
