What a public option will actually do is remove a bureaucrat (a.k.a. Service Rep/Accountant/Someone who doesn't give a shit about you and your health) from between you and your doctor.

There should be flaming pants all throughout the GOP benches and the Health Lobby, because they are most certainly blatant liars.

tool (person above). anyway, one thing seems to always kinda just slip by, the phrase "to satisfy the investors." now, who are these investors? are they just regular ppl who buy stock? are they other corporations? are they employee pension plans? a mix? anyway my point is, it's not just big insurance that's a problem. it's everyone and anyone who believes it's workable to enhance our life by profiting off others. worth thinking about...

In other words, Jay, the Elderly are going to be slightly better off than they are now. So what's the problem? The elderly were already getting the short end of the stick with commerical healthcare. What was described in that interview is an improvement.

A right-wing nutjob is just trying to scare people by not showing how that compares to the current reality. Elderly people are going bankrupt, and still dying under the current healthcare plan.

Give us something other than paranoia and propaganda, Jay, if that is at all possible from you.

iq - excellent! Thanks for that good point.
j8 - Medicare recipients score their customer satisfaction quite a bit higher than do people insured through employer-sponsored private insurance. That government wrecks everything it touches is just a scam designed to keep expanding corporate dominance of American public life.

Being elderly (76) I can tell you we do not exactly get medicare for free.. The premium is taken from my social security check before I get it... If you stay on medicare itself ( which few elderly do) you pay a deductible of $750 every 90 days for hospitalization.. Not cheap... However most of us opt for a public insurance co. to take over our premiums and provide our service...Like Blue Cross or AARP. I know about HR3200 because I studied it online.. It is not a good plan.... at least not for me... And I would never support it without changes inc. a consience clause for health care providers who don't want to perform abortions which are covered under this bill and which I personally do not want to pay for with my tax dollars
