thinkingblue says: When I opened this article, I thought it was going to be one of those same ole, same ole's, about smoking, drinking, overeating and unsafe sex, all the nasty, enjoyable habits we've grown to love. I was surprised to see it was about the rush to improve one's appearance by seeking out deadly cosmetic surgeries of sort. This is another one of those by-products from the advertisement industry who use "beautiful people" to sell the crap we buy... Subconscious messages are planted during these many ads, shoved in our faces, via magazines, newspapers, TV and any media we may tap into, to get entertained or informed. These ads, on a subconscious level make us feel ugly and useless because we don't resemble the actors or models who seem to enjoy their lives so much better than we. So what does one do to join the "beautiful people" crowd? They go under the knife! A big collective OUCH! http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/05/06/top-10-crimes-against-your-body.aspx |
