<B>BAARN - Hoewel de meeste mensen denken dat plastic koffiebekertjes slecht zijn voor het milieu, wijst een studie van TNO in opdracht van Stichting Disposables Benelux (SDB) uit dat eenmalige bekers juist milieuvriendelijker zijn. Dat blijkt uit een recente studie van TNO, maakte het SDB vrijdag bekend.</B>

Met name plastic en kartonnen bekers zijn minder belastend voor het milieu dan porseleinen of aardewerk mokken. Het afwassen van de mokken blijkt een nadeliger effect te hebben dan de productie van eenmalige bekertjes.

"De resultaten van de gemaakte vergelijkingen wijzen duidelijk in de richting dat de éénmalige (koffie) drinksystemen de minst milieubelastende zijn", aldus een woordvoerder van het samenwerkingsverband van de drankenautomatenbranche in Nederland, leveranciers en grondstofproducenten.
