Easier said than done, but they're working on it! And who said Bush wasn't doing anything to combat global warming? Not only that, but the people he's "removing" seem to all live in the hottest parts of the world, so clearly he's on top of this problem. There are, simply, too damn many of us Too true. If I ruled the world only people who passed a means test would be 'allowed' to breed with a maximum of 2 per parent. Every potential parent would have to 'earn' that right, proving both financial and emotional stability as well as intelligence. Just as well I don't rule the world! Are we really saying a pandemic would be *good*? Did I miss the memo condemning millions to death in the rush toward the desired outcome of population control?? Perhaps such a blasé attitude about mass death (and the consequent loss of all that wondrous human potential) reveals better than anything the defeatism and pessimism inherent in the population control position. I agree that parents should prepare for children and--more importantly--be ready to sacrifice personal pleasure to educate and raise them, but I am sure frightened by the idea that government would have the power to manage procreation. Just look at how poorly government manages almost anything-- environmental policy, for ... why not there are to many of us around ,so lets have a nice plague or a good third world war ooooooooh lets pick iran or north korea and drop a nuke or 2 on them See China isn't so evil after all! What a sickening article. We're all being conditioned to minimize human life and preparing the world for the acceptance of mass extermination. Did Hitler help global warming? Stalin, Saddam, the abortionists? Maybe we just need to forget all that help we were planning to give Darfur and Africa to deal with the Aids epidemic. The elderly are useless and they do take up space. No one will miss them? Yes, sohil has a point. Since everyone has an opinion about global warming, here's mine on a small scale. How much concrete and asphalt exists in the world? Playing on a tennis court is a good object lesson. That court gets so hot during the day that you can fry an egg on it. The heat r... According to a well-known mathematical equation, the Verhulst equation, populations only increase to a set number naturally, and then level out, due to a number of limiting factors such as food supply. Humans are a pretty wily lot though. We may be able to prevent it for a number of years, but in the end, it will probably go the way that is predicted by mathematics. It's already starting to become a reality in much of the world. The question is, will the humanitarian efforts of the industrialized nations be enough to save the third world? Probably not. Very enlightened comment jaftla. These fearmongering population crisis rants are nothing new. They have been going on since Malthus. Where popluation density is highest, you actually have higher living standards in most cases. This whole thing, like you suggest, is just more materialist propaganda. It is sickening and should be quite alarming. People are just so uneducated about the facts that they fall for this garbage. History always repeats itself. Where popluation density is highest, you actually have higher living standards in most cases.Boy yeah, you can sure see that in places like China and India. Don't they have the highest standards of living? Oh wait. That's some of the lowest standards... Hey, it gets hotter because of all the air conditioning, |
