skwirlinator says: Knowledge of disorders help you deal with all types of people. Everyone has one or more disorder to a certain degree. If you can identify the personality type you can effectively deal with that person and keep your focus. Nice find. Maybe add a "psychology" tag? I recommend David Shapiro's Neurotic Styles if you're interested in this kind of thing. I couldn't find my personality disorder on the list. My friends and I call it the "eeyore" temperament. It's recognizable by a very determined bent towards melancholy. You know, everything looks bad, sad, "it's sunny outside, but it's going to rain" type of thing. We're kind-hearted, just never expect good things to happen. Combine that with a large dose of obsessive-compulsive and being an only child and you've got me! Now you know why I clip what I clip! :~) Thanks for posting. @jatfla, Can't tell if you were being serious or not, but if you really want to know, it sounds like mild depression. That's a mood disorder, not a personality disorder. That's a good thing -- personality disorders tend to be a lot harder to deal with. enbar said:Done No enbar...I'm serious and it's really me. Been this way even as a small child; I can remember. It's ok though; people seem to like me anyway and my husband thinks I'm great. :~) We call it "realism"; not an ounce of Pollyanna in me! Ever read any of the Birth-order books? Personalities *typical* of your position in the family? I always found them very interesting. (Off topic, I know; just wondered.) |
