666 = NERO. Maybe. There is a possibility the reference of 666 John made in the Bible and the descriptive nature he applied to the beast was a description of Nero, who was a beast. 666 in some way, and I don't know how without going back and researching it, somehow is symbolically equivalent to the letters that spell N-E-R-O. It's been a while, and i know I do not do this subject justice, but I did hear a very renown scholar and Christian express this view quite convincingly.
