I wonder if Afghanistan and Iraq consider themselves lucky countries too?

As for climate change? It seems to me that Oz has been suffering quite a bit due to climate change with endless droughts and snow in Summer. Perhaps Oz should rethink it's butt-kissing attitude towards the US and think for itself for a change?

snow in Summer
Please tell me your taking into account that norther hemisphere summer is Southern hemisphere winter.

due to climate change with endless droughts
Like most alarmists, you make it sound as if they didn't have desert 100 years ago. since austrailia was founded, the world-wide climate changed, what, one degree max! Either stop over-exaggerating or provide some links to back up you claims.

Why is it that all of these alarmists gladly point their fingers ar the western world? Where's you concern over China! They're making out like bandits off Kyoto.

Yes, I have taken that into account...

Before I start going into "backing up of my claims", I really think that is YOUR responsibility, not mine. If you question what you read (as you always should) go check it out for yourself! To help you out, all I did was Google 'summer snow Australia' and here's the very first hit:

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/asiapcf/auspac/12/26/australia.weather/index.html

There are many more links to expand your knowledge, so your question is pretty not my business, but your own. Do with the claims as you see fit and check f.ex. what you can Google yourself, regarding f.ex the amount, severity and duration of droughts in Australia.

Happy hunting!

Because I am a part of the western world! Instead of just pointing fingers and throwing the first stone at others, shouldn't we be just as concerned with cleaning up our OWN act and getting our own house in order?

You may have a differing opinion and that's your prerogative, so what don't you go clip something Chinese then yourself, to even out the balance?

Oh, by the way! I clipped this more to address the "butt-kissing attitude" the Australians always seem to have for the US. What are your thoughts on THAT?

About what? Austrailia's, "Butt-Kissing?" (As you put it) They've been like that ever since we came to thier aid in WWII against Japan. I pulled into Austrailia a couple times while in the Navy... most of the people I ran into truly like us and are a lot like us.

Does that answer your question? Why does it make you so mad that they like us? Do they have to disagree with everything we do to fit into some kind of idea of what the world thinks of us?

(My space bar is broken, I am using an allen wrench to press space... so I'll leave it at that and address any other comments that require addressing later.)

Oh, I have vast experience of Australia, believe me, (years and years and years worth and Oz is, in my opinion truly the luckiest and the most beautiful of countries) Oz has always suffered from some sort of inferiority complex regarding the US (and western Europe too for that matter.) Howard should be man enough not to just be another US puppy dog like Blair. I do NOT want to see Oz become another "state of the US" or an unthinking, unconditional allied accomplice of the current corrupt and criminal US administration. I am of the opinion, that the US is headed for hell in a hand basket with it's foreign policies as they are and it would sadden me to no end, to see Oz take that same route.

like Bush America, refuses to sign the Kyoto Protocol,
Sorry, I must have missed this earlier..... when was Kyoto again... oh year, the Clinton administration with, oh yeah, Al Gore.

They didn't even send the treaty to the congress. (To be shot down)

So why is it the "Bush America" that refused to sign it. Shouldn't it be the "Clinton/Gore America"?

The US is a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol, but has neither ratified nor withdrawn from the Protocol. Bush can chose to ratify the agreement any time he wants!

Do I even have to mention, that the same goes for Australia? Hmm?

Congress ratifies treaties, not the president.
