This is so right. Although I am terribly saddened by the death of such a young, talented and tormented man, he was still one human being on the face of the earth. I understand the intense interest, being the pop icon he was, but to put everything else in the world on hold in order to show the same videos over and over again, and listen to the same quotes by endless celebrities, and hearing the same speculation as to the cause of death etc, etc etc, is just plain wrong. Everything that was devastatingly important moments before Michael's death was announced remains just as important, but not to the cable news channels and so many mindless viewers who just love to bask in the mourning process of celebrity demise.

I wish that at least one channel would have acknowledged that there are other important things going in in the world, covered them, updating on Jackson only as necessary. This reminds me os a radio station that had sponsored 5-minute spots every half hour for updates on the O.J. Simpson civil trial back in the mid '90s. They ran the updates twice an hour even on days when the trial was in recess.

I agree with your assement. When he was accussed of being a child molester everyone was ready to hang him on the nearest tree. Now he has become a "god". He was just an ordinary entertainer that probably was above average during his younger years. At the present time he was an over medicated lost sole who couldn't figure out who or what he was or was supposed to be.
