I don’t identify with my avatar, but I also do not identify with my meat body. To use a nice expression in the last Greg Egan’s novel Incandescence, I would prefer to relate to bodies like I relate to vehicles, using one if and when I need one. This technology is not here yet and probably won’t be here for some time, but I look forward to the day where having a meat body is an option.
