einbar says: "Under positive moods, people may process a greater number of objects in their environment" I totally understand this one einbar. Just had an experience of watching how pain can exacerbate a physical condition by "solidifying" it. In the end I simply decided I had to break the pain cycle and resorted to the use of anti-inflammatory meds for a day and half and (it doesn't actually surprise me) but it was interesting to see how quickly movement returned to the affected area. I am aware that there is still a hint of a niggling "mental stiffness" if that is the right word??? That I have to learn to sidestep. Great clip That I have to learn to sidestep. We are all learning one step at a time dancer. This was one of the things I noticed after having a bad foot injury a couple of years ago. It was as though dealing with the pain took up all the brain cycles I had – something as simple as figuring out which bus to take seemed almost impossible. And then the pain would recede and I could think and solve problems again. Ongoing pain is debilitating in so many ways... Yes I think that is what I realized. I recall my mother before she died - I remember then thinking it was like "sickness" was this whole other entity that had taken hold in her consciousness which she did not know how to lift out of and none of us knew how to help her move out of. I am pretty good at watching the onset of things like flu etc and side stepping those. So this was maybe another level of learning I have to master? Laughter whilst not easy to start doing when feeling unwell or in pain, is a great source of relief. Beautiful choice debbyski wonderful song I admire Einbar greatly. Debby, you are a generous person I value the attention you put in your Comment thanks Beautiful song I wish it was as simple as that for me. Put on rose coloured glasses and I'll be fine. I live on pain meds and even then my pain level still depends on my daily activity. Hi Tanyamm you might find that DVD "The Living Matrix" interesting to watch. I don't feel like I am in a position to tell someone else how they would best address their pain, I just use whatever works for me and I have to admit being quite fortunate in that these happen only on rare occasions The book by Eckhart Tolle - "The Power of Now" speaks about the "pain body" in a way that helped me to understand it a bit better. Hope you have a wonderfully pain free day. |
