invictus says: St. Helens doesn't let us forget itself. I think Invictus might have a crush on volcanoes, Wow. The slab is growing at the rate of more than a meter a day. i went to college in MA, and last year when st. helens started being all uppity again, i (being from seattle) automatically became the designated volcano expert of the school. everyone was always like, "so are your family safe? is seattle going to be destroyed? can you see the smoke from your house?" and i always had to point out that we seattle-ites are constantly living on the edge! the concept of active volcanoes was foreign to them all, so they were always overwhelmed when i told them that mt. rainier was also active and much closer to us than helens.... btw, i have a crush on volcanoes, too I saw it blow up going up an elevator to work. It was quite a site... certainly very memorable. Later I drove through the area... something that had to be seen to be believed. The wind blew in another direction... luckily. |
