I think he truly believes fixing healthcare, even nationalizing it, will cost less than the current system. I've seen those arguments made, and I know for a fact that my premiums are sky high because I am subsidizing every uninsured person. I know that 1/3 of Medicare dollars go to keep people alive for an extra 6 months. I know that drugs can be cheaper if we are smarter about them. I know there are so many more ways to bring costs down. What I don't know if any sort of consensus can be found which allows us to experiment with something new and throw out what we know doesn't work well. I also know that the wars we are in are killing more than terrorists. Put all those costs on budget...

I also know that the wars we are in are killing more than terrorists. Put all those costs on budget and Bush's policies clearly drove us down the path of self destruction. You can't come into office with the crisis we're in and cut domestic spending-it's a sure way to destroy everything I've worked for. This is going to take time, and we must be patient-it took a long time (look at long wave charts) to get where we are-Obama is not repsonsible for that.
