I was tempted to get a Union (Jack) Flag & a pole and raise it for the Fourth of July, last year (just for kicks); luckily I had other adults here to advise against it. Judging by the groups of drunken celebrants outside in the street throwing fireworks and various gun shots (from elsewhere) it's a wonder the whole neighbourhood didn't explode in an orgy of flame and bullets. Not that I have a problem with fireworks - I like 'em; but not looking forward to another season of wildfires - we were lucky last year to escape the flames.

Anyway, hope all you charming Yanks have a safe, great holiday & come round to your collective senses and petition the Queen to allow the US to be reabsorbed...
