Hahaha, what a joke. Do not get me wrong, I think the Rep and Dem party are doing all America wrong right now, but Cindy Sheehan is not the one to lead this charge.

Agreed, joaaron2468. I'm against the war as well, but Sheehan is a joke.

Ahem...if you actually read the article, Sheehan is not 'leading the charge', Rev. Lennox Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus is. Sheehan herself has this to say:

I am going to be there for him and to begin the march, but I am not going to make it symbolic.

That's exactly what a symbol is; the impetus to begin the action. Her being there to begin the march puts her as the symbolic head of the "charge" based on who she is.

Well, I don't agree. She specifically says she will not make her participation symbolic, but to me it really makes no difference. It could just as well be Mickey Mouse who 'lead the charge' or was a 'symbol' for all I care. It's the idea, the purpose and the march that matters, not a name, or an individual. If others want to see Sheehan as a symbol, then I have no qualms with that at all. Not at all.

It's not about what she wants. It's about perception. Like it or not, she's a symbol of the movement; she created that public image.

I have no qualms either, but if she really wanted to distance herself, why is she writing this to begin with? Yes, it's the intent that matters, but she's still putting her name in the spotlight. Let the movement go forward on its own merit.

I don't care who does it. Just get it done.

Get what done? He's already a lame duck President. The impeachment process (and much as I despise Bush, someone please point out the direct impeachable offense in accordance with law, not personal view) would not be completed before he left office.

It's a lot of noise without a lot of substance.
