Unlike Bush Jr, Bush Sr., Clinton, and Reagan, Obama has not replaced the prior administration’s district attorneys wholesale, instead leaving in place the majority of the Bush administration DA’s who had survived Rove’s purges intended to make sure they were loyal Republican apparatchiks.

Obama has not cleaned out the administration in general of Bush-era appointees and plants; indeed he has filled less spots than either Clinton or Bush II had by this point in their terms—and no, it’s not because the Senate won’t confirm them.

Obama’s economic team is filled with people who created the framework which allowed the financial meltdown to occur, who didn’t see it coming, and whose solution to it is to give money to their friends and colleagues and try and get another bubble started.

There should not be a voice among them as patriots which doesn't support with great vengeance the restoration of basic principles such as habeas corpus, but instead they decry the simple notion of caring for our fellow man and think they are patriotic in doing so.

You are of course correct, thisname, very right, sadly. Genuinely, though, I don't even know that having more choices would be enough to tip the balance to sanity. I believe deep down that the real root of the vast majority of our woes are related to corporatism and rampant fiscal corrupt...

Worse still, as bad as it is, SCOTUS is close to giving even more room for corporations to bathe all of every lawmaker at any level in obscene amounts of cash. There's so much corporate cash available that having 20 parties wouldn't really make a difference, they'd just pay them all off.

It ain't pretty and it's getting uglier by the minute.
