I'd pop, as this is a valid and interesting questions, there are lots of discrepancies between US an European politics in this area. But the article approaches the topic too black/white, it's also badly argumentend and researched.

It is not a university article!! It simply asks a question and in fact there are few non white politicians in European politics. I can only think of one in the UK right now and he is an Indian guy who wears a turban, that is about all I know about him as I no longer live in the UK.
