Amazing. Buddha sounds much like an atheist! Well really one in the same. Two kick-ass life stances.

Well... Buddha led or started what was then the "Renaissance" in India because he was sick of the dogmaticism that had become part of Hinduism and has for the past many centuries dogged Buddhism as well.

Hinduism has its roots in philosophical thinking and questioning and understanding nature. Buddha essentially said we must get back to those roots and stop placing emphasis upon rituals. Though many people hold fast to this rule in Buddhism, many follow his teachings as a matter of fact... which is quite sad because they are missing the essence of his teaching.

What makes anyone think you can have any confidence in a quote from someone who lived 2500 years ago? It's far more likely that someone 'supplied' it for him in a more recent past. (like the words of Jesus in the Bible)

Buddha’s discourses are well documented with when, where , to whom and why they were said.
Besides the essence of Buddhism is that “you” are your own saviour. Not a God or a prophet.
Buddha. Only showed the path . One has to realize with his or her effort and mind.
