Chad Randall was heading to the hospital after a stray bullet struck him at a Fort Lauderdale barbecue on Oct. 29, 2006, when the driver pulled over after spotting police in the 1000 block of North Federal Highway, according to suit filed by Marie Anderson, 27. Instead of helping, the officers patted down the vehicle's occupants and checked for  outstanding warrants, Anderson claims in the suit filed May 20.
Randall's brother told the officers that there was a man bleeding in the back of the vehicle, Anderson said.</DIV>
