Not necessarily anything we didn't already know, but this is clipped from an article that clearly articulates the stranglehold Google has over Microsoft as a result of their core philosophies. Management at Microsoft are certainly aware of this - will be very interesting to see how they try to counter it over the next several years.

Yippee! Microsoft is way too overbearing and intrusive and controlling. It needs to be knocked into reality and relevancy and some long-overdue humility.

The king is dead. Long live the king.

Google has incredible hutzpah too.

Sign up for adsense and ask, "how much will I get paid per click?', and the reply will be, "difficult to say and depends on how much an advertiser pays us".

"How will I know how many people click on my ads?'.

"Don't worry, we'll tell you; oh and BTW don't ever advertise how much you earn , because if you do, you'll be banned from Adsense".

Imagine a land-base company operating like this.

And I won't even talk about adwords, which has the worst customer service on the web, and that's saying something!

MS has just launched Bing, and it's faster than Google an looks better, but still needs to widen it's database.
