THE Border’s chief of Telstra is sick and tired of people criticising the telco’s Next G network.<BR /><P>
Andrew Cottrill said the mobile phone network continued to prove through rigorous testing and most complaints were overcome with the right handset.<BR /></P><P>
The system is expected to supersede the CDMA network later this month.<BR /></P><P>
In the past week Mr Cottrill has dispatched a technician to the property of a Riverina farmer who claimed the Next G system was a farce.<BR /></P><P>
The technician spent almost two hours on the property testing reception between the new technology and CDMA.<BR /></P><P>
Mr Cottrill spent almost four hours travelling between Hay and the Border last week to test the network’s signal.<BR /></P><P>
He said the line did not drop out once.<BR /></P><P>
The Albury-based regional general manager of Telstra said he wanted to cut through the myth.<BR /></P><P>
He said his staff had covered more than 100,000km testing the network.<BR /></P><P>
