Wal-Mart has done more to cut inflation and improve the American standard of living than any other private entity in the past 30 years. Are some prices higher? Sure. Do I believe 80%? Horse pellets. If that were true Wal-Mart wouldn't have been able to be so successful. It's called MARKETING. Research has shown that individuals generally find what they perceive. Wal-Mart improves the American standard of living? How? By ensuring that their workers work less than 40 hours so they can't get health benefits thus dumping that cost on local communities? By destroying mom and pop businesses all across rural America? By creating glass ceilings for women in their corporation? By being China's conduit to American shoppers? Why do conservatives have such phobias about research and fact finding? Besides that, so much of what they sell is just crap. Somehow they've convinced americans that buying cheap crap = a higher standard of living. If they weren't making a decent profit, they wouldn't be in business. wait so is this a surprise? I hate Walmart Marketing propaganda is the key to Wal-Mart's success. One of their most effective propaganda tools is the "bandwagon" technique. Every time there is a social or economic breakthrough offering economic or ethical relief, Wal-Mart is there to exploit it. Once they have you locked in and the other businesses and companies are contracted to them or closed down, they do raise their prices and eliminate product lines. Last night, on Nightly Business Report, it was reported that the corporation is introducing their new line of GV energy efficient products such as the miniaturized flourescent bulbs that work in regular lighting devices. I believe this is the beginning of their latest "bandwagon"... |
