I can speak from experience: we have bamboo growing in our backyard. It is a "monster" that grows faster than we can cut it, it can push through wood and while you think it is growing in one place - the shoots stretch out underground ten feet (like strawberry plants). I fear if we left the country for a year and did not keep it under control - we would have a forest of bamboo across the entire yard! A great natural resource that should be used more! ALSO - when it is dry - it is harder than wood, so you can build anything with it!

Wow, that's crazy. Bamboo doesn't grow here, but I certainly do love it in products. Jeez, don't take a job out of the country, lol!
