JICWyllie says: This is an oldie but goodie. Not many people know this. New York is powered by the massive James Bay hydroelectric complex in northern Quebec which submerged hundreds of thousands of sqare miles of boreal forest. Think of the methane being produced for that! No wonder the Canadian North is heating up faster than virtually anywhere else. NB Note how old clips can be as useful as new ones. We forget much more than we know. They have all failed to mention the HUGE methane deposits in the ocean floors, which are neither controllable by man or caused by man. Since 2/3 of the planet is covered in water, that may be a larger source than pointing fingers at the small number of hydro electric plants out there. I also see only one link for this 'news'. WHere are all the others? |
