There is an interesting video on the home page but it can't be clipped. It shows energy being produced by wind and stored for later use, perhaps even supplying other countries.

If America would put a VLA (very large array) of about 100 or more large solar collectors in the southwestern desert, it could power the entire country! We already have (and have had for Years!) the technology to do this ... the power companies just don't want it to happen (unless it's them making it happen so they can profit from it)! Makes me sad!

You do need to remember, though, that wind isn't exactly the "perfect" energy source. People living near wind farms are reporting multiple health problems due to ELF (Extreme Low Frequencies) from the turbines; on a scale that may be even greater than those caused by living under high-tension electrical lines. Places like the US and Canada, that have lots and lots of open spaces, away from human habitation can deal with that, but smaller countries with less landspace probably shouldn't consider the windpower solution.

Darkforce: We have wind power here in Spain too and it is not something that I am crazy about (destroys the view and I am not sure of its effect on birds, etc) but it is better than nuclear or carbon energy. We in Europe are also aware of the effects of the EFL but my reason for clipping was also because of the Irish idea of storing energy produced rather than not using that which was produced in excess.
