Homegrown tomatoes are the best anyway. I just planted 16 tomato plants this past weekend and have high hopes for a big harvest. No salmonella for me, please!

Chances are they've hit the Vancouver, B.C. shelves too.

In no way any bacteria can get inside undamaged veggie. Rinse it thoroughly and enjoy. This is one more stupidity and paranoia.

Actually, there IS one way to get sick. That is when numerous excessive chemicals, such as pesticides, fertilizers, hormones and antibiotics, planted by unscrupulous farmers in soil, getting inside body with tomato and causing disbacteriosis with intestinal dysfunction. Veggie like that are look, taste and smell different. One more danger around.
