They would argue: How many of the rich politicians in Malawi, the activists in Malawi, the rich in Malawi -- how many of them adopt children? They simply don't. They don't see rich Malawians adopting or supporting orphans, and we have 560,000 of them.

So Malawians have tended to love Madonna and want her to have as many children as possible, because she's the only one so far who has shown interest in adopting these children. Only about 30 international adoptions a year are approved here.

You really read that one Clip-on? Wasn't about her PHYSICAL appearance!!! Or do you think people who adopt non-white children have fleas?

I applaud her continuing efforts to bring awareness of AIDS, but I believe she should be adopting American children. Not because of some prejudice, as I am sure some people will immediately start screaming, but because we actually have adoptable children here in America too.

As far as her being hailed some kind of saint because she spends money there, well, it just shows how easily some of the people of Malawi can be bought. Money still has that ‘magical’ ability to allow all injustices to disappear.

Why should American children get priority for adoption against children of poor countries with very little chance for survival if they are not helped by the wealthy countries? I personally think that there should not be poor countries and that our rich countries are to blame for their poverty, so why not help some of those poor people rather than let them just starve to death? American kids have probably more chance of survival than Malawi kids and if American kids don't have a chance for survival, then something is definitely wrong with the American way of life.
