zasel says: This little blurb makes sense to me. The experience the terrorists are getting fighting our incredibly strong military machine can't be bought with all the money in the world. It seems to be we cannot actually win this war in Iraq. Even the majority of our political leaders believe that much. But just think about all the training and experience we are affording our enemies so they can face it even more effectively elsewhere, such as Afghanistan, where we should have stayed to begin with. At least there we could possibly have done them real damage to their numbers and determination. America was defeated before she even got there. Russia supplied GPS jammers to defeat our new GPS 'smart gravity bombs'. These are ordinary iron drop munitions that have GPS guidance fins. Once they are jammed they are not so smart. Iran, Syria (and others) suplpied intel, money and logistics/training. It seems EVERY country wants a piece of Iraq. There may not be much left when the dust finally settles, I'm afraid. On the flip side, our troops have been getting invaluable experience on fighting a non-conventional war against an insurgency, as well. This is how wars are fought: each side learns from each others' tactics and strategies. Soldiers coming home from Iraq are now in some cases more knowledgable than their instructors at Ft. Leavenworth or the Army War College. This doesn't mean that one side or the other is doomed just because the enemy is learning from their operations. It's a two-way street. Good counterpoint on this max. The insurgents are having a harder time keeping their stranglehold on the common everyday Iraqi citizen. As they step up and finally say enough to these killers, then and only then will they be able to control their country and we can get out of there. |
