Musical taste is obviously subjective, and so I can't guarantee that you will like this, but from my perspective, this vid captures a magical and phenomenal live performance.

Nina Simone's presence has such understated power and depth it seems other-worldly.

You got to check this.
Do it when you can relax, focus, and fully experience it.

That was lovely. The lyrics are so moving.

Thanks.

Cool, Miss Mousie. Looks like it's just you and me on this one. Pity.

I mean, am I wrong? Is it just me?
I heart attack serious, this thing knocked me out.

I've had this song in my head all night just from seeing the clip title floating around. Can't wait to watch.

I had heard her studio recording of this song, which is very good, but this live performance expands it to another realm and makes the studio version seem flat and uninteresting by comparison.

I've been listening to her version of Here Comes the Sun. Not as intense as this song but it makes me happy.

It's my impression that you are happy by nature, Miss Featured Clipper of the Day

Nah. I throw tantrums every now and then. This site is just a particularly happy space for me. I get enough distraction from my demons here.

I grew up to Nina Simone. Her version of Ne Me Quitte Pas gives me the shivers. I've lots of favorites, but tonight Sinnerman is on the repeat.

we use BBCode here, Overture.

It is my great pleasure to welcome another music fan to The Clip. There are too few of us.

By the way, Godfrey, have you heard some remixes of her songs? I recently came across a remix of Feeling Good and Sinnerman. Still fascinating, but not as good as the original ones.

I read somewhere that Verve has remixed albums featuring jazz classics.

Yes, I've heard the remixes, and, yes, not nearly as good.

I had heard I Love You Porgy many times, but this live version is far superior to the original recording. Anyone who has passed on viewing this because of having heard the song before, you really should check this.
