skwirlinator says: This is explosives camp, where high school juniors and seniors get hands-on experience in handling explosives. terrorist training? Oh skwirlinator, I'd have loved it if it had been available when I was in high school. Of course I graduated h.s. in 1962, my h.s. counselor talked me out of going to Rolla, which was/is an engineering school, because girls just didn't attend Rolla to be an engineer back then. I had received the highest score of all the students (boys) in my high school back then. I have always loved fireworks, so now that the 4th is almost here, I'll probably end up shooting $500 worth of fireworks before Sunday. Something every high school student should know. My understanding tanyamm is that it is very selective to get into--Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla, not just anyone can get into this summer camp. Starting salary for an engineer who can properly set explosives to level old buildings/bridges is $75,000. As I stated above, I'd have loved it if it had been available back in the early 60's. What with baby boomers retiring, the college prof who is the main instructor, states there will be logs of openings for trained people in explosive demolition. |
