WTH? What a way to mistreat your body. I feel sick. Mistreat 2 bodies. Mistreat 2 bodies.Looking at it that way, it's more than two. I hope this isn't true. I hope this isn't true.It does have a hint of implausibility. Probably more of an "art" project to provoke emotional reaction? I cannot imagine the thought process involoved in this if it were true. Just wildly bizarre. The goal in creating the art exhibition, Shvarts said, was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body. The display of Schvarts' project will feature a large cube suspended from the ceiling of a room in the gallery of Green Hall. Schvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Schvarts' self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting. If this is true I hope she never actually has a child. What kind of mother would she be? she sure shocks my psyche with her art.... It's a hoax. Don't you mean "art"? Thank goodness it's a hoax, but I still wonder what would compel her to conjure this madness. “People have to stop being so dismissive about what art is. It has to stop hanging on the wall. It has to be something lived, breathed every day,” she said. She wants people to stop being dismissive about art, but it seems she was being dismissive with her art. It just seems like she is trying to prove that gross=shocking=thought-provoking=art. Can anyone explain how her efforts will be fruitful? Did she acheive her goal? Can anyone explain how her efforts will be fruitful? Did she acheive her goal?In my opinion, for most of these types art is not really the goal. The goal is the demoralized institution where art should be ugly and meaningless ouside of it's usefulness toward the intent of the ideological stratification of society.. See the ideas of Antonio Gramsci, Georg Lukacs, and Herbert Marcuse. Art is no longer about aesthetics. Follow-up excerpt from Yale Daily News: Shvarts reiterated Thursday that she repeatedly use a needleless syringe to insert semen into herself. At the end of her menstrual cycle, she took abortifacient herbs to induce bleeding, she said. She said she does not know whether or not she was ever pregnant. Article by Shvartz. lovely.... she needs to get a life..... |
