Kill Bill, for what it's worth, is based on a whole genre of murderous gang war movies set in the Medieval Japanese era. I liked Carradine's work a lot. Bound for Glory very well done...he portrayed well humanity with flaws striving for something better. Kill Bill I could have done without. American actors acting out Japanese set-ups was a bit thin - they would have been better off holding up a stagecoach or something. (Pulp Fiction so much better, imo). I don't think we should be fooled by the elevation and praise of the spirit of the "natural born killer." equally not fooled of themes that people get all upset about killing at all. In truth, those who would see killing as a admirable ... But he was so cool in it. {!} Grasshopper, so cool, the weekly serial, I think ABC, walking across the desert in bare feet, a man from a long line of performers, Wild West Tech on the History Channel will not be the same, Uma made him famous, Kung Fu made him, David, that is how he will be remembered. |
