Masculine stereotypes still do all kinds of harm to men and women and girls and boys alike, and there's a good argument to be made for the idea that men are much further behind women when it comes to embracing feminist ideals. But feminism has had some successes, and it's been good for all involved -- this is just one example of that. There's still a long way to go, but hopefully studies like this will serve as reminders of who actually has the interests of human beings in mind, and who is solely dedicated to a dogma that doesn't fit into most peoples' realities or ideals.

I like this. It seems teenage boys have had a bad rap for long enough.

This is really good. Good to hear that Feminism has done more good than the apparent backlash it seems to suffer from the "moral majority."

It's about time! Boys today act and dress more like girls too! A lot of "African American" boys are dressing DOWN and not dressing up decent like a normal person should. It is a disgrace to know this is Black History month and this is not black culture! AIDS is over running this partical race. To many of us want to be seen, known and not knowing themselves. My quote "it is not what you have on the out side but what's in that count". Black boys special should treat girls like people because a great percentage fathers have abanded them and the mother was the one that had to raised them alone. Make love is beautiful but been in love is a blessing. Need a career try http://www.mywebcashstore.com/green3187 Or call 1-800-719-8268 ext 15941

Sound like self-fulfilling feminist prophesy.

The results of the "study," I would point out, are to be expected in a society where male sexuality has been traditionally berated as naturally predatory, selfish, exploitive, and opportunistic i.e. men are beasts, while notions of feminine moral superiority remain largely intact.

Boys are aggressive, obnoxious, and never let us be heard.
But let us tell them they were amicable, charming, amiable galahads, and - zip! - they become what we want them to be.
Seen from this angle, it is irrelevant how serious and valid all such "studies" are. Let's plainly invent them, and the world will become a better place - by "self-fulfilling feminist prophesy".
