uberkiwi says: I has this debate with the rest of the IT team at my company last year (I am an IT consultant). Companies see the cost savings of not using physical wired network - no wire cost, and no eletrician cost to put in the cabling - and really don't want to know anything about the health effects of RF radiation. Humans are electrical beings because cells are electrical, and the nervous system is too. It seems obvious that EMR would have potentially negative effects on humans, and jumping on to Wi-Fi without examining any ill-effects is stupid IMO. There is massive money backing the Mobile and Wi-Fi industry, because it is a huge money earner, so I wouldn't expect anything to be done any time soon. I've been wondering when attention was going to get drawn to this, afterall, people have been paranoid about cell phones for a very long time. My university has Wi-Fi practically all over...I would like to say it is definitly dumbing down the students...however the immediate cause is surfing the internet (myspace, facebook, occasional porn (seriously.)) instead of paying attention to the professor But on a serious note, I am concerned and agree that with money backing this technology studies would be pushed over. Can't help but wonder what this would mean in those towns and cites which are looking at wi-fi-ing the whole of the locale for wireless everywhere, no just campuses. I'm not jumping up and down and saying YEA or NAY, but I certainly can understand that comment about man being an electrical creature, at least to some extent. I research and write about all the lastest EMF findings. It was good to see others with concerns on this website also. There are thousands of scientific documents now that prove there is a direct link from cell phone usage, power lines, cell towers, microwaves, and etc. related to the current amount of cancers and other illnesses. The predictions for brain, eye, and ear cancers are going to jump exponentially in the coming short year span of 3-6 years according to leading scienctist. I remember there was photographs of experiments done on water that was exposed to cellular phones which show distorted crystals and then shown the message love and gratitude which showed beautiful crystals this is his site: http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/entop.html |
