You'd think that people would stop building and buying in low terrain level areas ... we have a river locally here and it fills up every year. Every 5 or 10 years it gets a little worse than others and every 50 years or so it really floods. People still buy there tho and put their trailer homes right on the river edges ... In my view its the same as, to quote the late genius George Carlin "people who, build their house under a volcano, then wonder they have lava in the living room"or build houses out of wood in tornado alley, then wonder why it gets reduced to matchsticks. Use a little common sense people. If you live on a flood plain where does the surprised part come in? If you want to live there fine, but you have to accept there are consequences with living in areas where the landscape and whether can be harsh and unforgiving. If that sounds harsh, it is, but it is also the reality of it. Also on a side note, You will just have to trust me when I say that the last thing you need, and I r... WOW!! I have seen a few floods here sad for the people who lose their houses, yet awesome otherwise. |
