Even in China, these are poor places. But anyway, these are existent.
The gap between rich and poverty become wider and wider ,and wider than many other countries(maybe I can say,any other countries),either developed or developing countries.

By the way,the sentence written on the wall in the last photo means"decrease burden of farmers "

It is so heart wrenching to look into the faces of these children. You want to somehow rescue each one. Give each one the full oportunity to express their potential. The world has too many of these. But the human spirit is amazing and some of them, despite the desperate circumstance of their birth will do great things, while some born to affluence will squander their good fortune and potential. Life is mysterious.

I agree. Would love to have the funds to help kids like this who are in need. I saw the same thing when I was in Russia and got the chance to visit an orphanage there as part of the cultural experience.

I think how lucky I am at present with being able to provide for my own kids. Only wish I had the millions to do more for others.

Isn't it possible that they are happy?

Don't get me wrong, I think It is so sad that anyone lives that way, but could it be that they may actually be happier in their lives than many people with "more" are? As this clipmark posted the other day said, money doesn't buy happiness.

Children find happiness in the most dire of circumstances. Money isn't the issue, It's freedom.

I have an idea that may help in your research.
Park your ship in various locations.
Offer to transport folks to any Nation of their choosing.
Take note of the top 5.

I agree - they might very well be happier then most people. Money actually is a headache as the more you have then more people want it and the more you have to protect it.

If they have parents that love them and enjoy their days then that is perfect. I should clarify, when I say help them. When in Russia, many of the kids at the orphanages worry what they will eat that day. I just would like to be able to remove worries of food and of kids having to work at young ages, jobs that adults should do, let them be just kids and enjoy life.

Needed to clarify - since money does not solve problems, but it does help a bit.

Sometimes I feel like I'm from another planet. So it all sort of works out.

I wonder if France would be in the top five?

Godfrey, I think you're definitely mixing money and freedom... People would choose to go to the richest country, not the freest...

And when you speaking of the "full oportunity to express their potential", I suppose you don' talk about the million black people in US prisons ? Or maybe you think their true potential was being jailed ?
