Sure, there are people within the government who may be possibly getting off on the idea, right off hand I would point to Van Jones as an example, but the president? No way.

The reason he won’t succeed is because the American people are smart enough (God, I hope so) to not allow it to happen.

Remember, this business of bailing out corporations and the federal government buying stakes in those corporations started on Bush’s watch, so it isn’t all on Obama.

I think bailing out corporations with public money is the wrong way to tackle the problem. Corporations have teams of experts to help them weather bad economic downturns without government intervention, if they can’t weather this storm then they don’t deserve to be in business.

These are dangerous activities for any freedom-loving nation to participate in and they fit very easily into Cheney’s idea of ‘protecting us’ so it isn’t just democrats doing this it’s the general direction this country is moving in and it needs to stop.

If we all continue blaming the ‘other’ party for our woes and injustices, while the government seeing that our backs are turned fighting amongst ourselves, we will continue to lose our freedoms and will never again experience a government that truly works for us, all of us.

If Cheney had thought snitching on your neighbor and e-mail mining the political opposition would have kept the country safer then he would have done it. Falling back on blaming Cheney does no good. He isn't in office anymore, but Obama is.

I am sick and tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils as our president. When are we going to get someone who tells it straight and begins working on putting this country back on track without worrying about his/her political future?
