Aribeth says: who appeared in the village of Woolpit in Suffolk, UK, in the 12th century. The children were brother and sister and they had green colored skin. Their appearance was normal in all other areas. They spoke an unrecognized language and refused to eat anything other than pitch from bean pods. Eventually their skin lost its green color. When they learned English they explained that they were from the ‘Land of St Martin’ which was a dark place because the sun never rose far above the horizon. They claimed that they were tending their father’s herd and followed a river of light when they heard the sounds of bells - finding themselves in Woolpit. Some of the more unusual theories proposed for the origin of the children are that they were Hollow Earth children, parallel dimension children, or Extraterrestrial children. I just despise the 1000 character clip limit! Sometimes it takes me longer to edit than find the content. Great clip by the way! Sometimes it takes me longer to edit than find the content.tell me about it thx This stuff is so delicious to me. Thanks! Check this out, re: the green children. Great clip! Thanks Thanks bignosemousie for the link too, was just about to google about it Sheroug, there is a whole mess of stuff out there about these green kids. It's interesting. The children's fondness for green beans does suggest another link with the otherworld, as beans were said to be the food of the dead. In Roman religion, the Lemuria, was an annual festival in which people used offerings of beans to exorcise the evil ghosts of the dead (the Lemures) from their homes. In ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt, as well as in Medieval England, beans were believed to contain the souls of the dead.Who knew? wow! whoa that is amazingly intense!! I've known about the Green Children for a long time. Some of these others I know less about. Great clip! Did anyone ever consider that they might be some species of faery? Amazing stuff! |
