dl211 says: tyical of the ethics of the majority...don't have the votes, simply play dirty. Of course my answer would be to the right would be to stay in DC and vote unless it's already too late. Yeah they should stay in DC while they still have jobs there. When the Repugs were in power they only worked 2 days a week anyway. But I'm sure they are going out there to California to help put out those fires....... hahaha what a joke. I let your remark go until I found out you were just another conservative hater. By Repugs I assume you mean Republicans, and you fail to see fairness on this issue due to being blinded by so much hate. Understandable, so go ahead and rave about ALL the GOOD work the Democrats have done this year, let me see,.....what is it now they've done?...they, like you are focused on GWB and Conversatives to actually do their jobs! Let's see, you say Reps. worked 2 days a week and got things done, Dems work all week (?) and get nothing done, they have the majority in both houses......who were the more efficient? I was never great at math, but I think the Repugs won that one fella. Correction Republicans only held session for 2 days a week and got nothing done. Thus their congress was titled by multitudes of analysts as the do nothing congress. The Republicans let their congress and control of the congress end in typical fashion without completing approprations for 9/11 national security initiatives. Your math is still faulty........ fella. Here's the book on the Republican 109th Congress, speaking of honesty and truthfullness. The 109th Congress left office in the early hours of Saturday morning, December 9, having logged fewer days of legislative activity than even the infamous “Do-Nothing Congress” of 1948. Notably absent from the following list of last-minute “... The Democrats acheived a majority in both houses by telling their constituents one thing - they would end the war, it didn't happen (yet). I recall the increase in the minimum wage carried a lot of Republican votes also, regardless, that was a good issue that passed. Luckily enough people let congress know we did not want amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens, I'd say that was a victory for America, not either party. At least for now. With Congress' approval rating lower than GWBs, I really wouldn't declare their performance that much of a victory. The low rating of the congress is skewed even lower by the public's dissatifaction with republicans. Democrats rate more highly than do republicans. And yes it is frustrating that there is not a big enough majority in either branch of congress to provide the U.S. citizens what they want, an end to the Iraq war. That is a loss for the U.S. citizen. Don't believe that the low ratings of Congress are going to translate in to a Republican victory in 2008. That would be foolish logic. Here's how the math works on the congressional approval. Democrats are dissatisfied with W and with Congress not extracting us from Iraq. So both ratings are low. Republicans are dissatisfied with congress becau... you may be right, to tell the truth I'm not crazy about much of anybody in Congress or the WH at this moment. I don't think many Republicans are rooting for Bush, I'm not, I'll be glad when he's out of office. I just hope that power crazy Hillary doesn't get elected |
