The list of countries wanting to censor the net is growing steadily. Other countries use it to catch people out or watch people. Or they block content to keep the public uneducated and in the dark. What's Iran so afraid of? The truth? Say "Hello Theocracy". Exactly why church and state should be separate. Control the information; keep people uninformed of the truth so they can be controlled. China does the same thing, as did USSR (although it wasn't Internet that was censored, it was books, movies etc.) I realize it's convenient for anti-religious zealots to push their point in this case, but it's not what it's about. It's a simple suppression of information to keep control without dissent and it's not about religion at all. Perhaps we are judging their customs by our rules again? It's not rocket science... besides their customs aren't USSR's customs and they're doing the exact same thing, so it's not the customs.
