sincitykitty says: Again and again since the food scares of the 1980s, we have seen these waves of hysteria rise and fall, over everything from salmonella in eggs and Asian bird flu to the Millennium Bug which was supposedly going to bring civilization to a halt at midnight on December 31, 1999, as half the world's computers crashed and planes fell out of the sky. The short list includes: Ebola Bird Flu Second hand smoke Hetero-sexual AIDS Pig Flu Global Warming SARS ALAR Global Ice Age 70s Population Bomb - we supposed to all starve to death by 1985. Leftist loves these sorts of hysteria. I could not believe the fright in the voices of my friends tonight. This is media driven. While they say 10+ cases have been reported in our state, the small print says that the actual results will not be known for a few days. Purely heightened hysteria since it's doubtful that these cases are actually the swine flu. My condolences to those who have contracted the disease and I hope for their recovery, but this is beyond responsible reporting. I actually saw a man at Target tonight wearing a surgical mask while shopping. |
