Instead of fighting can Chrome and FF get together?

That will be a tough fight. The problem with battling Firefox is just building a better browser isn't enough. I think Opera is a much better browser than Firefox. But it isn't about the browser, it is about the browser extensions. Unless Google managed to find a way to make their browser use Firefox extensions, or find a way to easily customize those extensions, then it will take years to duplicate all the functionality of Firefox.

firefox is good. I stopped using my ie a year ago as it was continually screwing up my computer. but have yet how to find out how to completely delete the darn thing!

Google is getting a bit too "centralized" for my liking. Think I'll stick with Firefox and Dogpile.

I prefer Flock myself, but I would have been using Opera long ago if they had a library of extensions like Firefox. Heck, I may one day use Chrome if they are ever able to cover the functionality of my favorite extensions.

Google's a little too centralized for me, too. Too much personal info-gathering. One search engine, Ixquick, advertises that it doesn't save any personal info longer than three days. But it's been less than red-hot, for me.
And silvana, it's not possible, I understand, to completely delete ie, because some other Windows functions depend upon it.
They know what they're doin, eh?

I stopped using Flock not too long ago when I discovered a way to run two different profiles separately in Firefox.

The biggest reason for using FF is the free Adblock extension. Everything else comes second.

Adblock works just fine in Flock as do most extensions. Flock 2.0 which is based on Firefox 3 is in beta and should be out soon.

I have seen the benchmarks on Chrome and they look good. It has some nice features too. Most can be duplicated in Firefox/Flock with the exception of each tab being it's own process. In the end for me it comes down to the extensions. Adblock (something I bet Google doesn't want their browser doing), Clipmarks, and dozens of other extensions I just love. I have lots of RAM so a few more megs is no big deal. Extension are what it is all about.
