Hmm - I'm surprised to see that the "simple" spelling movement involed dropping 'ed' in favor of 't' for some past tense words. I'm actually in favor of some simplifications to the strage exceptions in our language to help make it more universal, but adding new special cases just to make some words match their phonetic spelling more closely seems counterproductive. |
