The whole problem of mental illness seems to be ignored by govts everywhere. Australia has a giant shortfall in facilities and counsellors/psychologists and the govts seem to be shrugging off the problem by emphasising the relationship to drug usage. Countries involved in the Vietnam conflict have done nothing for the returned soldiers except make life more difficult for them. They show that they have learnt nothing from Vietnam with the way they are not helping Iraqi vets. The world is moving at a faster rate than many are able to cope with. Too much choice. It is a state fate of Affairs in America the way the health systems views those in situations of patients with mental health problems and just creates more problems in the society. With some recent bad medical problems lately, I have found our health care system very poor and lacking in a proper diagnosis. I had a life threatening condition a few months ago and just because I sought out mental health help years (10+) they judge me and many of the doctors have "labeled" me.
