Yes I agree with emoyer. I think that the real issue of the problem is if they do not have the monies to pay for the space in which the chickens live, they will have to cut back and that could affect they livlihood as well as the lives of those who purchase their brand not to mention all the vendors that purchase their brand as well. I think this is an easy fix (it's not like fixing the turmoil blanketed in the United States). From what the article mentioned, there are about three housing units for the chickens per farmer(s) (I think I read that right) well this amount can be divided by making the space needed in the main coop (stacking them or what have you) which will save on energy and the costly monetary spending across the board.
